Pre-owned Pilot Custom Kyomon fountain pen inscribed with the Buddhist sutra (scripture). The scripture is the heart sutra. The Kyomon version of the Pilot Custom was launched in the early 1970s with production going into the early 1980s. This version is red lacquer over a brass body with maki-e raised lettering. Nib is in near-new condition. Body of pen shows some discoloration near the end of the pen (can be seen in pictures). Pilot pens are fantastic writers. This is an uncommon variant of the Custom series.
