Pre-owned Ladies Seiko Hi-Beat Watch. Reference 1944-0040. This was the world's first 36,000 hi-beat ladies watch. The calibre 1944 was launched in August 1967, the same month as Seiko's 36,000 hi-beat men's watch. Significant challenges were overcome to produce a 36,000 beat movement in a smaller size. The calibre 1944 was produced between 1967 and 1974. This watch was produced in the final year of production. While over shadowed by men's watches, this first ever ladies hi-beat is historically significant.
Overall, this watch is in fairly good condition. Moderate scratches and scuffs can be seen on the sides of the case, top of the lugs, and crystal.
